Etude House Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails in Mint Chocolate

Just realised that we've been MIA for like 4 days!! MY BAD. Totally didn't realise that there was a lack of regular posts. Been caught up with my shows and rotting at home! :O The polish I have today is a super cute one from Etude House! This one is from the Ice Cream Nails range and i've got it in the shade Mint Chocolate.

Of course, what first attracted me to this polish was the super cute packaging!! As you can see, the bottle is in the shape of an ice cream cone!!!!! :O:O:O:O The polishes are also named after ice-cream flavours! I love greens (especially mint greens) so this polish really called out to me!

This polish is made up of an assortment of brown, black, pink and also green hex and square glitter, suspended in a mint green creme base. Really looks quite delightful and yummy!

The formula was a bit thin but it was ok. Just needed about 3 coats to get it opaque. The brush was also so much better than the normal Etude House brushes. The normal ones are way to wide, so it's quite difficult to paint on my nails. This one was just nice, probably slightly narrower than the OPI pro-wide brushes.

Anyway, really hope to post more regularly!! Haven't been inspired to do any nail art recently. Would love to have some suggestions! Just sound off in the comments :)

Pretty & Polished Flip Flop Fuggetaboutit!

Sorry for the long absence!!! Luckily two people run this blog and there's still Xun hahaha. :D Today I have Pretty & Polished Flip Flop Fuggetaboutit! When I first saw P&P colour changing polishes I was soooo amazed at the ones with glitter because they're so pretty! And the change from white-pink!! I like that it's an obvious colour change and the glitter really makes it stand out :D

First, pics of it freshly painted! Even without colour-changing it's already sooooo pretty!!!

I tried on the polish when my nails were particularly long, hoping that the colour change would show over the free edge of my nails but it didn't ): Never mind! I dunked my nails in ice water to show the difference!

Had to quickly snap the pictures because the darker coral kept fading back to white haha.

The colour change also showed when I held my fingers up to the air con haha so I was very happppy!!!! I want to get more! You can check them out on the P&P website here.

Aritaum Modi Nails Pumpkin Spice

This will be a short post! Today I have another Aritaum Modi Nails polish in Pumpkin Spice!! I got this one cos it looks so much like KBShimmer Quantum Leaf and kinda like Nerd Lacquer Gorramit as well. Knock-off indies for dirt cheap yay!

Pumpkin Spice is made up of an assortment of red and orange glitter suspended in a yellow jelly base! Love how this reminds me of autumn (can only dream in Singapore :/ Sighhh)

Anyway, pardon my sudden weird-looking stubby nails!! After the exam period my nails were kinda screwed up so I had to file them down to this shape :( They're back to normal now THANKFULLY!! Phew.

Hope you liked this short post! :)

All Your Gold

This mani is a result of random experimenting and I still can't decide if it's fail mani. I got the Nails Inc Leather Effect polish and I thought it would be cool if I sponged on some gold to get like a tarnished effect. Didn't quite turn out the way I expected but I guess it looks kind of cool???

I painted 3 coats of Nails Inc Leather Effect in Noho and sponged OPI Goldeneye over. In case you're wondering, I didn't use any topcoat to get that tarnished look.

I guess it's kinda cool that you can create your own textured polish just by sponging another colour over! STILL, though, I'm on the fence about this particular look hahaha.

I shall end this post with a song for everyone! It's actually what I named the post after, Bat For Lashes - All Your Gold. Managed to catch her at Laneway earlier this year :)

Enjoy!

Aritaum Modi Nails Flash Mint

OK WE HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE BLOGGERS!!! Hahahaha sorry but we've been totally MIA for the past week cos of our dance production! We've dancing from like 11am-11pm almost everyday so it's impossible to blog/paint nails/take photos!! :( Boooo. Ok but good news is we're back!! :) Mag is off for her internship so most probably you'll be hearing more from me hahahah.

I shall mark our return with this one from Aritaum, Flash Mint! I got this one cos it kinda looks like Nerd Lacquer All of Time and Space from the Doctor Who collection (queue fandom shriekssssssssssssssss).

Flash Mint is a super pretty glitter polish magenta and kinda white/silver hex glitter in a dirty mint green base colour! I really love how the magenta glitter is sort of not really a complementary colour with green but it somehow works anyway???

Love Aritaum polishes cos the brush makes it super easy for application and the formula is great as well. A bit on the thin side but it's still bearable. I think this is 3 coats?? (really can't rmb omg)

You can check out my review on Modi Nails Forest Green with links of where I got them from!

Hope you liked our post and we promise this time we're back for good! :)

Furry Elmo!

Following Xun's post about her green diamond glequins on Sat, here's what I chose from Born Pretty Store! I decided to get flocking powder even though I've seen it being used in various manis and I wanted to know what the texture was like. The furry texture seems so fun!!! Also, I was inspired by this mani and wanted to incorporate the flocking powder into some nail art soooo this is a furrrrrry Elmo using red flocking powder! :D

Heh my Elmo looks a little dopey. Anyway! I did this by first painting the Elmo and topping it off with Seche Vite so it would dry fast. It doesn't have to be completely dry as long as it's dry to the touch and you can lightly smooth your finger over without anything sticking! At this stage your polish probably will still be dent-able but I'm impatient so I just had to be a little more careful!

After that I painted only the red part of the Elmo with a normal top coat and topped it off with a heaped amount of flocking powder, lightly pressing it down to the topcoat! Do this one at a time! And the flocking powder really gets EVERYWHERE so be careful and line your surface area with a piece of paper so you can collect it at the end! After that you can just brush off the excess flock, and done!

I really loved touching the flocking powder texture but I don't know if I didn't put a thick enough layer of flocking powder, cuz the furriness seemed to "flatten" out after a while! You can wash your hands even with this mani, it'll just dry out and look about the same, so it wasn't really as high maintenance as I thought it would be. Removal is the same as a normal polish, maybe slightly tougher because you have to rub off the flocking powder but it wasn't too bad!

You can get flocking powder here, they come in so many colours!!! Remember to use the code NTL91 to get a 10% discount (:

Green Diamond Glequins

Today we have another review from Born Pretty Store! They sell a whole bunch of nail art and beauty supplies and best of all, they provide free worldwide shipping! This round I chose these pretty diamond-shaped glitter, or glequins as they call it (a cross between glitter and sequins I assume).

The glitter came in this small tub. But seriously, there's enough glitter in there for you to do a lifetime of manis with them. The only problem I had was that the glitter would get caught around the rim of the container and so when I opened it, a whole load of glitter would just spill out all over the place.

I used OPI Dating A Royal as my base colour, and then I dabbed on some topcoat where I wanted the glitter to be. Next, I just used my smallest dotting tool, dabbed it with some topcoat again and then picked up the glitter and onto my nail. Like I always say, best to use a slow-drying topcoat!

Remember to use the code NTL91 to get a 10% discount off any order from Born Pretty Store, just for our readers! Loads of nail art stuff and free shipping! Don't hesitate!

Hope you liked this post!!
